For Liverpool, the first reinforcement of the summer will soon be born. The position is neither attacker nor centre-back, but, no way, goalkeeper.
The acquisition of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is imminent as the long-term successor to Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Liverpool, who have been in negotiations over the last few weeks, have reached an inter-club agreement and the Georgia goalkeeper’s transfer will be finalised after medical checks are completed. He will remain at Valencia on loan back this season before officially joining next summer.
Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market, gave details of the move, stating that a total transfer fee of €35 million will be paid and the contract will be for six years.
