Colombian international Luis Diaz reigns supreme on Liverpool’s left flank with his excellent ball handling as well as his unpredictable dribbling.
He also excels at making the most of his fellow players, and last season he produced an impressive 13 goals and five assists in 51 games. He was part of his country’s full national team at the Copa America, where he scored twice throughout the tournament and reached the final.
After a productive summer in which he narrowly missed out on the championship, the 27-year-old winger was also named in the starting line-up under Arne Slot and started the opening two Premier League games.
He played a big part in the game against Brentford, scoring one goal and assisting one, but reflecting on the game, England’s famous general Harry Redknapp praised the player’s performance, but also said he needed to improve on his quality in front of goal.
“Luis Diaz is a joy to watch when he’s at his best. I thought some of Liverpool’s football was absolutely superb and this lad was right at the heart of it.”
“He’s so elusive on the ball and if I had one complaint about him it’s that given his talent, he should probably score more than he does. He took his goal brilliantly here though; it’s been a great start for Arne Slot.”

The left winger is the only one who often misses the decisive moment, but if he can consistently score 20 goals throughout the season, he could become a truly unstoppable player.
With Dutch international Cody Gakpo likely to be locked in on the left wing this season, there will be fierce regular competition between the two wingers, both of whom aim to score from the cut-in.
Will the 27-year-old attacker be able to defend his position and score more goals than his 15 last season…?
