While Manchester United have made major reinforcements, including Matthijs De Ligt, Leny Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui, Liverpool have failed to secure a defensive midfielder, which was their first priority, and have not been able to strengthen as much as they would have liked.
Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is the future successor to Alisson Becker. Italian international Federico Chiesa, perhaps as a backup to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, but it remains to be seen how well he will perform as he has been injury-prone of late.
