Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk moved to Liverpool from Southampton and has continued to lead the defence as a defensive leader. He turns 33 this year, and with his contract at Anfield running until June 2025, his departure is attracting a lot of attention.
Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are in a similar situation, with three difficult negotiations awaiting Liverpool. The players are demanding moves from the club, with Salah and Van Dijk revealing the progress of negotiations in interviews with the media.
Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market, referred to the contract situation of the veteran Dutch centre-back. He revealed that no discussions have even taken place yet and predicted that his future will be decided in the coming weeks and months and during 2024.
