Arne Slott started the new season in charge of Liverpool. The team went on a goal-less run from the opening game against Ipswich Town and obtained three consecutive victories. They also showed the difference in ability in the away game against Manchester United, accumulating ‘three’ points.
However, against Nottingham Forest at Anfield, they were outclassed by an away team that had taken measures. The season has only just begun and the battle for the top places is still tight and it will be interesting to see who breaks away from the pack.
Former French defender William Gallas, who played a number of Premier League games for Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as a player, said Liverpool and Manchester City are a step above the rest.
“I’m concerned that Liverpool and Manchester City could run away with it. It’s so important to start the season with a winning run and look at the message Liverpool sent with a 3-0 win at Old Trafford.”
“You need to have opponents scared before the game even starts and that is what Liverpool have done. It’s a strong message.”
“Then if you look at Manchester City, the smaller teams really don’t want to play against them because you know what is going to happen. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are in the same bracket but I don’t think Arsenal have the strongest squad.”

It is still early in the season and the probability of getting predictions right is very low.
Even the most seasoned commentator can easily miss a prediction, and in the Premier League, where the top and bottom teams are so closely matched, it is even more difficult to guess the outcome than in other leagues.
As a Liverpool supporter, I would love to see Liverpool crowned champions once again, but how will the title race unfold?
