Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai reveals what has changed under the Arne Slot regime Team

Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig last summer. In Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield, he made his presence felt from his first season.Although he had a few more lacklustre games towards the end of the season due to fatigue, he generally received high praise.

In the team with new coach Arne Slot, he was also a regular. He has been asked to play in a different role, closer to the top than at inside half, but he continues to play both offensively and defensively with his extraordinary attacking flair and abundant athleticism.

The Hungarian captain confessed that the appointment of a more possession-oriented Dutch coach has changed his style of play, compared to the German coach, who played intense and characteristic football with gegenpresses and short counters.

“Now we are more on the ball, we are more calm,”

“The players who have a lot of quality, they have more tine to think about what to do.”

“With Jurgen, we just won the ball back and go directly to the goal and score. Actually, it was working (laughs) sometimes.”

“But now, the difference is that we have the ball more of the ball. (We are) more calm and build up from behind.”

“Jurgen was probably the 12th man on the pitch, so if he could, then he would run onto the pitch and make some tackles,”

“The new coach is more calm and he knows what we plan is going to work out somehow.”

He has developed into one of the best young players in the Red Bull Group with RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, and even at Anfield, where he has been compared to club legend and former England midfielder Steven Gerrard when in good form.

The attacking midfielder, who is still only 23 years old and has great potential for the future, talked about his goals ‘so far’ and ‘in the future’ and said that he wants to win both the Premier League and Champions League.

“I wan to win the Champions League,”

“When I was a kid, first I wanted to hear the anthem [of the national team] on the field. Then I wanted to score. Then I wanted to be the national team player and captain.”

“I did all of them and now as I am playing in the Premier League I want to win the Premeir League and Champions League title with Liverpool. Big goals, but it is realistic.”
