Transfer fee could be just €20m...Liverpool rush for Sevilla defender Loic Badé Transfers

Liverpool are looking around for a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires next summer. The team captain admits he is happy at Anfield but has yet to sign a contract extension.

The club’s iconic players, including Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, are also nearing the end of their contracts, and the uncertainty over their careers beyond next summer continues to make supporters jealous.

Manager Arne Slott and new sporting director Richard Hughes are preparing to steer Liverpool into a new era, and it will be interesting to see who they can add to the club to strengthen the squad, or if any big names will leave.

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Anfield’s leaders are keen to sign Sevilla’s 24-year-old defender Loic Badé, with a deal for just €20 million likely to be completed.

Since his move from Stade Rennes, the former France U-21 defender has continued to impress in La Liga and Liverpool are also reportedly hoping to seal a deal before other clubs come in for him.

The modern centre-back, who combines strength, speed and skill, has made 69 appearances for Sevilla. He played six matches for France U-23s at the Paris Olympics this summer. It doesn’t look like it will be long before he is playing in the uniform of the national team.

The Spanish club are struggling financially and may be looking to cash in on their core squad quickly in order to balance the books for the upcoming season.

Will Liverpool be looking to a 24-year-old centre-back from Spain to replace their Dutch defender?
