Since moving from Portugal to Anfield, Colombian international Luis Diaz has continued to trouble opposition defenders on the left wing.

Under Arne Slot, he has honed his scoring touch in front of goal and has been an ace in the hole.

The 27-year-old winger and Liverpool have signed a contract until June 2027. The Merseyside club are keen to extend his contract, but there have been rumours of interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain during the transfer window this summer.

Graeme Bailey shared the status of discussions surrounding the Colombian attacker and reported that there are no negative stories circulating at the moment.

He also revealed that he likes the Dutch coach from the bottom of his heart and does not believe that he would consider releasing him.

“I haven’t heard that he’s been disappointed and the contract is in the works,”

“Liverpool know he needs a new contract and they’ve come to the table. They’re very happy with him and I haven’t heard any negative whispers at the moment.”

“I don’t think they’re letting him out in any way, shape or form,”

“I’m told there’s no one who’s impressed Arne Slot more than him. He’s been sensational and Slot absolutely loves him.”

A contentious issue in signing a new contract is how much of a salary increase Liverpool can offer.

He remains on a significantly lower salary than not only Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, but also Federico Chiesa and Ryan Gravenberch, and would receive one of the highest salaries in the team if a new deal is signed.

So will the 27-year-old winger remain loyal to Liverpool…?
