In Jurgen Klopp’s regime, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have produced numerous goals with their strong attacking participation and assisting ability. They have created a new image of defenders and many of the side-backs now run into the penalty area.
However, they are going through a transitional period. The England defender’s contract is about to expire and Real Madrid are in talks to acquire him. The Scotland defender is now in his 30s and his performances have noticeably declined this season.
Former England defender Jamie Carragher, who was vice-captain during his playing days and led Liverpool’s defensive line, said the left-back should be acquired this winter to help them win the Premier League.
“Liverpool need to sign a full-back. I think they need a left back.”
