Liverpool look to Nigerian international Victor Osimhen to replace Darwin Nunez Transfers

While forwards such as Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo have been scoring goals steadily, Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez seems to be struggling.

The 25-year-old striker, who is strong through the back and has a reputation for pressing from the front, has spent most of his time competing with the opposition’s centre-backs, lacking the flexibility and foot technique of Diaz and Diogo Jota, and disappearing at many times.

According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool are evaluating Nigeria international Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray as a replacement for the player, who is also beginning to be linked with an exit, with Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes perceived as ideal replacements.

The 26-year-old forward was linked with a move to the Premier League during last summer’s transfer window, but for some reason he moved to Turkey on loan. The Nigerian attacker, who scored 76 goals in 133 games for Napoli in total, has scored 13 goals in 16 games this season and his outstanding scoring touch is still intact.

His high athleticism and decisiveness have made him one of the best strikers in Europe, but it is unlikely that he will finish in the Turkish league, nor will he return straight to Napoli next season.

It is unlikely that Liverpool will be serious about acquiring him due to the high transfer fee involved, but will Osimhen ever move to Anfield…?
