Egyptian international Mohamed Salah is still in contract negotiations with Liverpool.

Egyptian King has made it clear that he wants to stay at Anfield, but has not reached an agreement with the club on terms and conditions, and is now at a stage where he is free to negotiate with other clubs.

With interest continuously arriving from Saudi Arabia for almost two years now, even if he extends his contract, he will turn 33 in June this year and will have to find his successor. Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has recommended Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.

“If Liverpool wanted one player to replace Mohamed Salah, the obvious choice for me would be Rodrygo from Real Madrid. I think he’s a wonderful talent.”

“I don’t know what his contract situation is in Madrid, but I think of him because we’ve seeing him play at the highest level and winning Champions Leagues in the last couple of years.”

“His numbers aren’t like Salah’s but he’s a match winner. He can beat people, he’s quick, he’s playing in an environment where he’s playing under huge pressure every week and dealing with it.”

“Additionally, they’ve got so many talented players at Real Madrid that maybe there is room for one of them to leave. So that would be the obvious standout for me.”

France international Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian international Vinicius are also in the squad and are not in an absolute position.Other promising young players such as Alda Gürel and Endricksi are also looking for their chance, and competition within the club is fierce.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old forward has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 23 games this season, which is plenty of playing time.

He is unlikely to be unhappy at Real Madrid at the moment and has until June 2028 left on his contract.

If the Merseyside club are serious about acquiring him, they are expected to demand a huge transfer fee, but will they make a move to secure the Brazilian attacker…?
