Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk was appointed Liverpool captain following the departure of Jordan Henderson. He has also wrapped the captain’s mark around his country’s full national team and has shown outstanding leadership of the final line throughout the game.
The veteran centre-back, who is also a formidable defender against the opposition, revealed that he had shown a video of his title-winning performance to fellow countryman Ryan Gravenberch, who has developed his talents under Arne Slot, and said he was aiming to be at the top of the Premier League and Champions League again.
