With Mohamed Salah getting older and Liverpool continuing to search for a successor to the Egyptian King, interest in a wide variety of attackers has been reported. Names of wingers from not only the Premier League, but also European and South American leagues, have been in the media.
And all eyes are now on France. According to Anfield Watch, the Reds are interested in 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain winger Désiré Doué and are closely monitoring his development and movements.
The France U-23 attacker is said to be open to a move away from his current club and the arrival of Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has exacerbated that situation and hastened his departure from Paris.
The young winger moved from Rennes to the French capital in the summer of 2024, but Liverpool’s scouting team have been interested in him since his time in Rennes.
He has been playing for PSG this season and has four goals and seven assists in 28 games, but half of his appearances have come from the middle of the park. He is not a regular contender and his playing time may decrease further with the arrival of an attacker who has become one of the world’s top players at Napoli.
He can play on the right wing as well as on the left. He has a fine touch of the ball and a style of play that can take opponents off their centre of gravity, and he can provide the right pass in front of goal. He is not a scorer like Salah and it remains to be seen whether he can be selected as a direct replacement.
So where will the talented 19-year-old winger play next season…?
