German midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who has made over 400 appearances for Bayern Munich, is out of contract with his club at the end of the season, and the 30-year-old midfielder is increasingly likely to leave on a free transfer.
The veteran midfielder, who also wears the captain’s mark for Germany, has also played a number of games at right-back and could replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose departure is uncertain for Liverpool, and strengthen their defensive midfield.
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool were most recently in contact with the player in early January and discussed a possible move next season. They are expected to make contact again soon, which could lead to further discussions.
However, the Merseyside club are not the only ones interested in the German midfielder, with Manchester City also interested in him, and strong clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also among the options.
Kimmich wants to move to England, and although Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly favourites at the moment, nothing has been decided yet. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, have not given up on renewing his contract.
