Portuguese international Diogo Jota moved to Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020.The player, who is under contract until 2027, has scored 64 goals and provided 21 assists in a total of 166 games at Anfield.
However, as in every season, he has been off the pitch for several months due to injury, making it difficult to count him as an asset for the entire season.
Nevertheless, his ability to score goals in a variety of ways – with his left and right foot and head – is attractive and, despite his small size, he has scored a number of goals from corner kicks.
The Portuguese forward, who has the ability to control the ball even when surrounded by defenders, is of interest to Arsenal, also in the Premier League, and is the man manager Mikel Arteta is looking for, according to former Manchester United and Tottenham scout Mick Brown reportedly said.
“Jota is one of the names on Arsenal’s list. He’s got a very impressive goalscoring record at Liverpool and he does play as a sort of hybrid forward for them; he’s not an out-and-out striker.”
“Arsenal want somebody who can play on the wing as well as through the middle, and he fits that mould. He still scores goals and he’s very effective.”
“He would give Mikel Arteta’s side something they haven’t got at the moment – a player who is going to guarantee them goals and a threat in behind, but is also capable of getting the ball into feet and linking up with his teammates.”
“His injury record is a bit of a concern, but I don’t think that will put them off, so I think he is one they’ll be targeting in the summer. Then, it will depend on whether Liverpool want to sell to a rival and what type of fee they’re looking for. It could end up being a big-money move if they’re going to let him leave.”

With many of the forwards, including Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Federico Chiesa, being rumoured to be on the move, the possibility of a renewal of the forward line-up for next season cannot be ruled out.
However, replacing all the players at once would be a very difficult task and at most two players would be the limit. Is there a future for Liverpool to sell the Portuguese attacker to Arsenal?
