Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez is struggling to adapt to Arne Slot’s style of play.He has fallen behind Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz and his exit from Liverpool is becoming a reality.

An offer has reportedly been received from Saudi Arabia this winter, and a sale is not out of the question if a replacement can be obtained.

The main topic of discussion is whether or not anyone will succeed him. Various names have been mentioned, including Newcastle forward Alexander Isak, a dexterous centre-forward who can score goals.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in Brighton forward Joao Pedro, and it has been suggested that they could move for him.

Goal’s Peter Staunton has heavily favoured a move to Anfield for the player. He said he would be the perfect fit for Liverpool, based on his experience in England.

“Well, he’s under contract for another three years. So that’s 2028. And assuming that he sees himself at a higher level, he’s not going to renew. So you’re looking at a 23 year old with three years left on his contract,”

“Brighton will feel reasonably be well protected in this coming summer, given what they got for Caicedo, which was a hundred million, I would say that’s probably the benchmark that they’re going to set.”

“But at the end of the day, if Liverpool see him as the guy who’s going to, you know, lead them to success over the course of the next five to eight years, I think if they could do a reasonable deal and a reasonable deal for me would probably be about 80 million.”

“If they could do a deal around that price, then I think that for me, Joe Pedro is the one is. He is the way to go because I think the Premier League factor’s huge, as you mentioned. I think he’s had what, two full seasons in the Premier League? But he’s also played Championship as well, you know, so he has served in the school of hard knocks, he knows what English football is about.”

“There’s no period of adaptation there. I just think when you re speaking about a Firmino type fit. For me, it’s Joao Pedro. That’s who I’d like Liverpool to sign as their next centre forward.”
