Liverpool continue to search for a potential successor to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah. A number of wingers have been reported as potential targets since last summer, including Belgian international Johan Bakayoko, who plays for PSV Eindhoven.
According to CaughtOffside, that interest has not been squelched and manager Arne Slot is keen on the 21-year-old right winger from the Netherlands and is seriously considering whether to make a move for him this summer.
He is a right winger who can shoot from cut-ins and can also create chances. He has led the team’s attack this season with 10 goals and three assists in 31 games throughout the Eredivisie and Champions League.
He has also played against a Liverpool side who rested their main squad in the final group stage, where he scored one goal, and has also made his debut for Belgium in 2023, where he has been on the pitch for 18 games, showing his extraordinary potential.
The 21-year-old attacker is said to have received an attractive offer from Saudi Arabia, but prioritised the European stage. The transfer fee is expected to be between €50m and €60m, with Arsenal, Newcastle United, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund also following the move.
Will the Belgian forward, who has been honing his talents at PSV Eindhoven since joining the club’s academy in 2019, make the step up to the Premier League or Bundesliga this summer…?
