During the transfer window last summer, the club signed Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will officially start playing at Anfield next season. They also added Italian international Federico Chiesa to their squad, but at the moment they cannot rule out the possibility of him leaving England after just one year.

Liverpool have remained quiet in the transfer market this winter, but are expected to be aggressive in their reinforcements this summer. Rumours of strengthening various positions, such as centre-forward, centre-back, right winger and left-back, have been floated.

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Liverpool are planning to bring in a duo from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, with Algerian international Mohamed Amoura and Greek defender Konstantinos Koulierakis being eyed.

The 24-year-old forward joined on loan from Royal Union Saint-Giroudes this season with an option to buy, and has eight goals and eight assists in 21 games, with Arsenal and Frankfurt also showing interest.

He has also scored eight goals in 30 games for Algeria and is a highly determined centre-forward. Wolfsburg are expected to exercise their purchase option, but are also reportedly willing to sell for €40 million.

The Greek defender, who made his first Bundesliga appearance last summer with PAOK Saloniki, has secured a regular place in the team and has made 26 appearances, and despite being 21 years old, has made 11 appearances on the pitch for the national team and is gaining a reputation.

Liverpool are said to have already made contact and several other clubs are keen, with AC Milan, Real Madrid and Premier League clubs among the favourites, with a transfer costing €40 million.

Will the Merseyside clubs make a move for the two players from the Bundesliga a reality?
