Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge.
The midfielder, who can play anywhere in midfield, has become an indispensable mainstay not only for the German manager, but also for new manager Arne Slot.
He has already played more than 80 games at Anfield, and after a period of tiredness and lacklustre performances, he is back in the top flight. This season he has been more often playing alongside Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in midfield than at inside-half, but he has adapted quickly to the new system.
The team has continued to perform well since the start of the season. Although they have not won as many games recently, they are competitive and have the strength to change the way they play depending on their opponents, and have won some close games.
The Argentinian midfielder revealed that underlying this is a high level of ambition and that the team has been able to come together as a team.
“Nobody would have expected us to be in this position before the season,”

“After the World Cup I realised how good it feels to win something like that. For me it was the proudest moment of my career so far and I want to feel that again. I know if I win the Premier League or Champions League I will feel it again. That’s why I am here. That’s why I feel this team has the ambition to win those kind of things.”
