19-year-old winger Jesús Rodríguez has been promoted to Real Betis’ first team this season and has started to grab a regular place in the team over the second half of the season.
He has been performing at a high level in the left and right wing positions and has danced his way up to become an up-and-coming attacker.
As Liverpool continue their search for a successor to Mohamed Salah, there could be a reshuffle up front, with Colombian international Luis Diaz also being linked with a move to Barcelona. And the Merseyside club have Betis’ young talent on their list, reports Spanish newspaper PTV Sevilla.
He continues to build his reputation in La Liga with his incisive dribbling breakthroughs.
The problem is that he has less than 20 games of first team experience, including in the Copa del Rey and Conference League. Rather than moving to Anfield right now, he will be watched carefully as he continues to develop.
The Sevilla-born winger has also been on the pitch for four games for the Spanish U-19 national team and has proven his ability in the under-category.
According to Spanish newspaper Fichajes, Real Betis have set their price at €50 million. It is not a price mega clubs such as Liverpool cannot afford to pay, and they may offer the same amount or more this summer if they want to invest in extraordinary potential.
Realistically, however, it is too early to acquire him now. Gaining a bit more experience and developing his abilities in Spain is the top priority.
It seems highly unlikely that he will seek a new home at Liverpool in the near future, but what does the future hold for the player…?
