Tottenham Hotspur are also in the running for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher

‘I am good mates with Ali’ Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher talks about his relationship with Alisson Becker Transfers

Caoimhín Kelleher is increasingly likely to move on from Liverpool at the end of the season and may have completed his last spell at Anfield after starting in the Carabao Cup.

Defeat against Newcastle United left him out of reach of a trophy to follow up last season. The Irish goalkeeper’s departure has been boosted by the official addition of Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer.

Furthermore, with a contract that runs until June 2026, the 26-year-old goalkeeper has no intention of renewing it and is likely to seek a new home at a club where he has a chance of securing a regular place.

International media outlet GIVEMESPORT has repeatedly reported that Keleher is likely to leave Liverpool in the coming months, with Tottenham Hotspur dreaming of bringing him to North London.

There is one major obstacle, however. Spurs have high hopes for their defensive midfielders, Italian goalkeepers Guglielmo Vicario and Antonín Kinsky, making it difficult to guarantee the Irish goalkeeper the regular playing time he craves.

From Liverpool’s point of view, they would be happy to sell if a sufficient transfer fee is put on the table. However, the 26-year-old goalkeeper has to think carefully about his future career and with several clubs interested, the job of finding the ideal club awaits.

Reports are circulating that Chelsea, also in London, are also interested in acquiring him. Looking at the goalkeeping line-up alone, it is understandable that the likes of Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have not performed consistently, and Keleher, who is secure and stable on the pitch, looks an attractive asset.

With Liverpool also likely to see goalkeepers other than Alisson Becker leave the club and the goalkeeping ranks undergoing a renewal, what sort of career will the Irish goalkeeper, who has been a constant second-choice goalkeeper so far, have in store?
