No Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season... Brighton interested in bringing Arthur Melo from JuventusTransfers

Arthur Melo, a 26-year-old midfielder who seemed to be the future of the Brazilian national team during his time at Barcelona, was unable to win a starting spot at Juventus, partly due to injuries, and his rank within the team continued to decline over the years.

With a contract remaining until 2025, Juventus wanted to sell the player to reduce his salary burden, but no takers were found. Last season, Liverpool signed him to a rental deal in a panic-buy situation.

They paid the bulk of his salary and loan fee, but after only a few-minutes Champions League appearances, he did not even make the pitch in the Premier League and returned to Italy with no purchase option to be activated.

The former Brazilian midfielder has failed to find a chance to revive his career, but an English club might be able to reach out to him. According to the Globo Esporte, Brighton is interested and could make a move for him.

However, Brighton’s interest level has never been high, and with midfielders such as James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud being acquired, it remains to be seen if they will be obsessed with a new midfielder.

Several Brazilian clubs are also interested, so a return to his home country would be a realistic route if Juventus were to terminate his contract.

Can the former Barcelona midfielder, a complete failure at Anfield, turn his career around in the year he turns 27…?
