Former England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 in search of playing in midfield. In his first year with the club, he surprised everyone by combining brilliantly with the front three.
However, from his second year onward, he was plagued by repeated injuries and struggled to adjust to the conditions. His playing time gradually decreased, and although he played 13 games last season, most of them were only during the period when the forwards were injured one after another, and in the second half of the season, he was not even on the bench.
His contract with Liverpool expires last season, and he is in a position to make a free transfer this summer, with Aston Villa rumored to be interested.
According to the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old midfielder may decide to go to the Middle East, as interest has arrived from Saudi Arabia as well as the Premier League.
The Saudi Arabian club is aggressively reinforcing its squad with its abundant financial resources. Former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has also reportedly agreed to sign a contract with Al Ahli.
Will the former Arsenal midfielder decide to go to the Middle East or continue playing in England?
