Born and raised in his hometown, 24-year-old defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has become an absolute regular in Liverpool’s first team. One of the best side backs in the world, he also tried his hand at the false side back role last season and started for England as a midfielder.
Although the Liverpool defender has often been criticized for his defensive approach, his variety of long and short passes are among the best in the Premier League.
With attention focused on his position for next season and beyond, The Athletic’s James Pearce noted that he is expected to renew his current contract, which runs through June 2025, and work on a new deal within the next few months.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold will be the priority in terms of agreeing a fresh deal. I’d expect that to be addressed in the coming months”
With the current situation at the beloved club where he has grown up since childhood and has steady playing time, a contract extension is only a matter of time. If there is no dispute over salary or other terms, an agreement on a longer contract is expected to be reached.
As a future captain candidate, it would be a great story if he could finish his career at Anfield as a one-club man.
We await news of a contract agreement with Trent Alexander-Arnold, although not right now.
