In addition to restructuring their midfielders, Liverpool are looking to rejuvenate their center backs. They are looking for a left-handed center back who is not in the current center back group, and along with Chelsea defender Levi Colwill and others, they were also interested in Dutch U-21 defender Mickey van de Ven, who plays for Wolfsburg.
Liverpool, whose top priority is to reinforce its midfield, has yet to make any concrete moves. Tottenham Hotspur is also in contact with his agent and is moving forward with negotiations with his club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, who is familiar with the transfer market, the Dutch U-21 defender is eager to move to Tottenham and has informed his club of his desire to leave this summer.
Micky van de Ven’s camp told Wolfsburg of player’s strong desire to join Spurs. Negotiations are underway between the Tottenham and Wolfsburg, he’s among top target as revealed last week. 🚨⚪️ #THFC

Contacts with Edmond Tapsoba are still ongoing as of now, deal on. pic.twitter.com/kQajgRpSQg
He has only played 38 games in the Bundesliga and only made his breakthrough last season, so it is time to see if his ability is real. He has also pitched in 11 games for the Dutch U-21 national team, but it is difficult to judge whether he can make it in the Premier League.
Liverpool is more inclined toward the England U-21 defender, who is considering a future at Chelsea, than the player. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely that they will move to bring in a non-priority center-back at this point, as they have not finished revamping their midfielders.
The Wolfsburg defender is likely to move to Tottenham now, but will Liverpool be able to secure a defensive midfielder and also secure a left-handed center back in this summer?
