Portuguese U-21 midfielder Fabio Carvalho joined Liverpool last summer as a promising youngster. He was rarely used up top, a position he had grown accustomed to during his time in Fulham, and when he struggled to play on the left wing, he rarely got a chance to play in the second half of the season.
With the prospect of spending more time on the bench in the new season, he opted for a one-year loan spell at RB Leipzig, hoping to make a step up in the Bundesliga, which in recent years has been the stage of choice for young English players to develop.
RB Leipzig sold Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool this summer, so expectations are high for the former Fulham midfielder, who is also an attacking midfielder.
The player did not mention much about comparisons to the Hungarian captain, but expressed confidence in his new position.
“I don’t really like to speak about other players,”
“Obviously, everyone knows that Szoboszlai is a very good player. But I have confidence in myself and believe in myself, and I have confidence that I can give my best to RB Leipzig.”
“I would say I’m a creative player, and I’m good on the ball,”
“I work hard as well, not just for myself but for the entire team. My skill set is to be creative on the ball, on the counter, and on the attack. I am a fan of finding the right pass and to shoot. I like to score.”Transfermarkt
