Liverpool has lost the battle for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo and is increasingly likely to lose Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia as well. Securing a defensive midfielder is a necessity, and while they have not given up on the race to acquire Lavia, they have their eyes on other midfielders as well.

According to ESPN, Liverpool is interested in Ivory Coast midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, who plays for PSV Eindhoven, and could make a move for him depending on the situation.

The 25-year-old tall midfielder sought a new home in the Netherlands in the summer of 2020 from Toulouse. He was a mainstay of the team last season, scoring eight goals and assisting three in 45 games.

He has also scored nine goals in 31 games for the Ivory Coast national team and is developing a reputation as a defensive midfielder.

In addition to his well-developed physique, he uses his long arms and legs to get the ball away from him. He can also propel himself forward and cover the entire pitch.

He can also send long feeds from the back to the forwards, something similar to France U-21 midfielder Khéphren Thuram, who had previously shown interest./

At 25 years old, he can still play at the forefront of the game and has room to grow. Although this is his first time in the Premier League, he has plenty of experience in the Europa League and European Conference leagues.

The former Toulouse midfielder has the style of play, age, and experience to match the requirements, but will he ever play at Anfield?
