Clearly see he's got the quality and the ability... Harvey Elliott talks about new midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai Team

Liverpool, looking for a generational change in their midfielders, acquired Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and also signed Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who had been with RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who was captain of his country’s national team and was drilled into Red Bull soccer by RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, made his presence felt from the opening Premier League game against Chelsea. He made an impressive debut in what was not his first time in England.

In the second match against Bournemouth, he earned a penalty in the midst of a difficult game in which he conceded the first goal. After being reduced to one man due to a miscarriage of justice, he formed a midfield with newcomer Wataru Endo and fought hard and wisely in both attack and defense until the end of the game.

Harvey Elliott, the England U-21 midfielder who started both games and is competing for a regular spot in the same position, also praised the performance against Bournemouth. He expressed his hope that he will continue to play an active role in the long term.

“He’s a great guy as well as a great player, there’s no doubt about that,”

“The game against Bournemouth, I think he showcased his quality in many different aspects.

“I think in the 90th-something minute he was still bombing forward and running like it was the first minute of the game. It’s nice to have that kind of player in the team. And especially him being young as well, let’s hope he can keep doing it for many years.”

“He’s going to keep growing as a person and as a player. It’s just down to us to make sure he’s settling in OK and he’s getting used to his surroundings and making sure he’s at home.”

“We can clearly see he’s got the quality and the ability. We just want him to do very, very well.”
