Born in Liverpool, 22-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones has been honing his skills at the academy of his local club since he was a child. Although often out injured, he contributed to the second half turnaround last season. He is expected to play an active role this season in a midfield that has been drastically reshuffled.
This summer he participated in the U-21 European Championship 2023 as a member of the England U-21 national team. He started all but the last game of the group stage and was a key member of the England team that reached the top of the tournament.
In the semifinals, they faced the Israeli U-21 national team. RB Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh, who started for the opposing team, reflected on the U-21 European Championship and named the young Liverpool midfielder as one of the most impressive players.

He also played as an anchor man in the pre-season due to the lack of defensive midfielders. In order to make the most of his characteristics, he seems more suited to inside half, where he can press hard up front.
He has earned a starting place against Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, in addition to the opening game of the season, and should be a mainstay at Anfield, helping us to challenge for titles in the Premier League and Europa League.
