With the acquisition of four midfielders, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch, Liverpool is making progress toward the second administration of manager Jurgen Klopp.
With Thiago Alcantara expected to leave the club next summer and the number of midfielders remaining a concern, Liverpool is rumored to be moving to further strengthen its midfield, with Fluminense midfielder Andre and Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips reportedly among the targets.
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz is also considered a candidate, and while various big clubs are interested, Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist, has denied any move this winter and disputed reports about the departure of the team’s key players.
“Contrary to other reports, I’m told there’s still no asking price and nothing decided on Wirtz.”
“He’s very focused on Leverkusen, they are flying now and nothing is happening.”
“I don’t see them selling Florian in January, he’s a key player for Xabi Alonso.”
“So, my expectation is for Wirtz to stay at the club in January.”

He has led the team’s attack under the Spanish coach this season with three goals and four assists in 10 games, and although he has only played 12 games for the German national team so far, his numbers should increase in the future.
The young midfielder is unlikely to make a move in the winter transfer window, but a number of mega clubs are likely to try to acquire him in the coming summer transfer window.
