Arthur Melo's agent talks about his resurgence at Fiorentina after his failure at Liverpool Transfers

Liverpool, who acquired a number of midfielders in this summer’s transfer market, moved to strengthen their midfield even before the start of last season.

However, they missed out on Jude Bellingham and Aurélien Tchouaméni, and the resulting acquisition was former Brazilian midfielder Artur, who had struggled for playing time at Juventus.

The player had also played for Barcelona in the past, but was useless at Anfield. He was injured for a long time and took a lot of time to get back into shape, not even being allowed to play in the Premier League and only 13 minutes in the Champions League.

His experience in England was not a good one, but when he was loaned out to Fiorentina in Italy this season, he found a regular place in the team. He has made 15 appearances in Serie A and the Conference League, a return to form from last season.

The player’s agent, Federico Pastorello, thanked Fiorentina for the acquisition, but reflected on his disappointing time at Liverpool, saying that his client should have played more.

“First of all I publicly thank Joe Barone and Daniele Pradè, as well as Vincenzo Italiano,”

“They had the courage to listen to my insistent invitation to think about this player, because coming from such a difficult season like the one at Liverpool.”

“[Also]with an injury that lasted longer than expected and a difficult recovery, even though in my opinion he deserved to play a bit more, it was not easy to get him.”

“I was certain though that he would do well, firstly because of the tactical qualities of the Italian game that are perfect for how Arthur plays his role,”

“Then I thought the environment in Florence could be ideal for him, since it is an important but still familiar club, with an ownership that is present.”
