A bit like Yossi Benayoun...Former Premier League warrior praises the play of Harvey Elliott Hot Prospect

He made his Premier League debut at the age of 16. England U-21 international Harvey Elliott moved to Liverpool in 2019 from Fulham, where he was then a member of the team.

He showed such high potential that he went straight into the first-team squad, and in the 2020/21 season, he went on a rampage in the Championship when he trained with Blackburn.

The following season, he became a first-team member and converted from his previous position to midfielder. He has been playing more and more at inside half, and this season he has been a super-sub in more than 20 matches so far.

He has changed from his teenage days of dribble penetration and pushing forward, and is now a midfielder who is leading the attack. Former West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has compared him to former colleague Yossi Benayoun and praised his technique.

“Harvey Elliott has done well and what I like about Harvey Elliott is, if you look back at the Manchester United game, Liverpool needed someone to come on who was slightly different, someone technical to unlock that door.”

“That’s what Elliott brings to this Liverpool side, I’m not saying he’s the same player, but he’s a bit like Yossi Benayoun where you bring him in and he changes the dynamic of how Liverpool play in that final third to make that final pass and to be something special and different to make it happen for them,”
