Too soon to move on from Fulham...English journalist slams Fabio Carvalho's career choice Transfers

Portuguese midfielder Fabio Carvalho led Fulham to promotion to the Premier League with a scoring attack with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Harry Wilson.

His achievements in the Championship earned him a move to Liverpool the following season, where he stepped up his game.

Last season, his first year with the club, he got playing time as a left winger in the first half of the season, but he rarely played in the 2023 season.

With his opportunities expected to decrease again this season, the 21-year-old midfielder decided to move to RB Leipzig on loan.

However, his playing time in the Bundesliga has also been limited, and he has not had the career the club and the player had anticipated.

Liverpool is said to be considering bringing him back, and it has been reported that he could be loaned to another club or become an asset to a team with an increasing number of injuries.

While no final decision has yet been made, talks continue between Liverpool and Leipzig.

However, Dean Jones, an English journalist, was negative when asked if the player is included in the mid- to long-term plans, and complained that the move to the mega club was too quick and a step up from Fulham.

“I think it will be difficult. Carvalho was looking for too much too soon, and I always felt that he made the move from Fulham too quickly.”

“He burst onto the scene in the Championship and was brilliant. There were obvious signs that he would become a player that is capable of playing in the Premier League and Champions League.”

“But I also felt that he needed a step in between – even if it was to go out and then go back on loan somewhere within England – where he could continue to grow. It just hasn’t worked out so far for him.”
