Fabio Carvalho returns to Liverpool from RB Leipzig on loan to his old club Fulham

West Ham approached Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho for a loan move... Brentford and Burnley also interested? Transfers

Fabio Carvalho emerged at London-based Fulham and made a major breakthrough in the Championship in the 2021/22 season. After leading the club to the Premier League, he was recognized for his potential and made the step up to Liverpool in the summer of 2022.

However, he struggled to secure playing opportunities at his new club. In the second half of last season, he spent more and more time off the bench, and the leaders lost faith in him. Last summer, he decided to move to RB Leipzig on loan in search of playing opportunities, but even in Germany, he was unable to secure a regular spot.

Fearing for his developmental opportunities, Liverpool cut short his one-year timetable and ended the loan move after six months. The 21-year-old midfielder is back at Anfield again, but without a place in the first team, he is likely to go on loan to the Premier League or the Championship.

According to Sport Bild, the Portugal U-21 midfielder is close to returning to his old club Fulham, where Everton, Leicester City, and Southampton have all expressed interest, and he is expected to return to shine at his old club until the end of the season.

The information is not yet confirmed, and Liverpool has also indicated that they are willing to loan him out to a club that will guarantee him playing time. Aleksandar Mitrovic, who was with the club at the time, has left for Saudi Arabia, and if he moves on, he will have to establish a link with Mexican international Raul Jimenez.

Andreas Pereira, the 28-year-old midfielder who is expected to become a rival at the club, has also not been as successful as last season. For Marco Silva, who already has a relationship of trust with the club, this would be a great addition for the second half of the season, but where will Carvalho end up playing?
