After leaving Liverpool, where he had played since 2011, English midfielder Jordan Henderson decided to join Saudi Arabia during the transfer window last summer.

He was persuaded by Steven Gerrard, with whom he had played at Anfield, to join the Saudi Arabian club, and with a big salary, he thought a rosy life in the Middle East awaited him.

However, the reality was different. He could not adapt to the climate and culture of Saudi Arabia, and combined with the team’s lack of success, he is planning to leave the country after only six months. He is also said to be in talks with European clubs, but no offers or negotiations have been made as of yet.

Ben Jacobs, an expert on the transfer market, updated information on the turmoil surrounding the player. He said that he is expected to join the training camp soon, but is expected to discuss his departure with Gerrard and the sporting director.

“Jordan Henderson is expected to arrive in Abu Dhabi today for Al-Ettifaq’s mid-season training camp. Club’s position remains they don’t want to sell or loan him this window and won’t be pressured into doing so.”

“Henderson is yet to tell the club he wants to leave. Talks anticipated with Steven Gerrard and sporting director Mark Allen in the next 24-48 hours.”
