Midway through last season, England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold began to learn to play in midfield as a false sideback and moved on to a new career.

He has started in midfield for his country’s national team, and has adopted a tactic that allows him to take advantage of his overwhelming passing sense for both club and national team.

As a local player for Liverpool, he has continued his numerous impressive performances at right back since his teenage years.

Appointed vice-captain before the season began, he has shown leadership on and off the pitch, and even while away injured, it is not uncommon to see him high-fiving in front of the bench at the end of games.

However, the player’s contract with the club is coming to an end in June 2025, and Liverpool, along with Mohamed Salah and Filsil Van Dijk, who are on the same length of contract, are looking to renew the contract with the England defender, but no moves have been made as of yet.

Fabrizio Romano said that negotiations between Liverpool and the 25-year-old defender have not started, but that the Reds have no intention of selling him.

“Real Madrid are monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool.”

“Current deal expires in June ’25 with no talks underway as of now.”

“Liverpool have not indicated any desire to sell at this stage.”

“There’s no indication of player’s views so far.”

The 25-year-old defender is a future captain candidate, and Liverpool will do whatever it takes to renew his contract. He is also a local product and is very popular with the supporters. He should lead the club in the absence of Jurgen Klopp and will be an active player at Anfield for a long time to come.
