Still, Liverpool may add a new midfielder. According to Italian newspaper Tuttomercatoweb, they have won the battle with Juventus for Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners and are expected to add him to their squad at the end of the season.
The interest in the player, which has been reported a lot in the past, has become more realistic as the new coach is from the Netherlands: they have fought together in a coach-player relationship at AZ Alkmaar and know each other’s features and personalities.
He has been a regular at Atalanta this season, making over 40 appearances and scoring in double figures. He also played a full part in the Europa League quarter-final against Liverpool, so he knows the atmosphere at Anfield first hand.
