Dutch manager Arne Slot steps up from Feyenoord to take on a new challenge at Liverpool, a club with an extraordinary history and glory. He has built a strong team in his home country, winning domestic leagues and cup competitions.
He will be exposed to a different kind of burden, but he has already begun to build a team to his liking and is in discussions with Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, including the departure of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, whose contracts expire in June 2025.

He is not a big man, but with the right positioning he can also play as a defensive midfielder and create creativity in midfield. He is one of the best midfielders in the world, with the ability to propel the ball forward and is a good chance-maker.
At one stage he was linked with a move to Manchester United due to his club’s financial difficulties, but he stubbornly refused to move. He is loyal to the club and even if Liverpool were to make a move for him, it would not be straightforward.
He is not listed at the moment as not being a priority reinforcement position, nor is there any chance that Liverpool would go all out for him, but it would be interesting to see the chemistry he would have with Alexis Mac Allister and others…
