Liverpool tried to sidestep the situation...Juventus move to sign Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio Transfers

The Reds are looking for a new second goalkeeper this summer, with the departure of Irish goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher, who has supported Liverpool as second-choice goalkeeper and has kept the goalmouth in 26 games throughout the Premier League and Europa League this season.

Names such as Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Paterson, who plays in the Championship, and Dutch goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, who plays for new coach Arne Slott’s Feyenoord, have been mentioned, but a new player has been added to the list.

According to Tuttosport, Liverpool are interested in 26-year-old goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, who was a defender at Monza and has started 34 games on the pitch this season, and are looking to swoop from Juventus, who are rumoured to be close to signing him.

The Reds are believed to have made a more attractive offer than the Turin club and reportedly arrived in Milan last week to try and persuade the player’s side. However, the player and the club have also reportedly rejected the offer.

The Italian goalkeeper also has no intention of crossing over to England and has made joining Juventus a priority. It is difficult for Liverpool to break the deadlock and it seems unlikely that the transfer will go through in the future.

So which player will Liverpool bring in to replace Kelleher if he does leave…?
