Former Brazilian international Roberto Firmino, who regrettably left Liverpool last summer, decided to join Al Ahli from a number of offers.
In his first season in Saudi Arabia, he scored nine goals and seven assists in 34 games this season.
On the opening day of the Saudi Professional League, the former Liverpool forward made a perfect debut with a hat-trick, but he had to wait six months before he next found the net, and rumours of an early exit during the mid-season winter transfer window were rife.
And the transfer saga could flare up once again. According to Italian journalist Rudi Galletti, Al Ahli manager Matthias Jaissle is unhappy with the player’s performances and has asked the club for a new player.
“Matthias Jaissle has asked Al-Ahli to listen to offers for Roberto Firmino.”
“The German coach is not fully satisfied with his performance and would like to replace the Brazilian with a new striker.”
“The contract of the former Liverpool player expires in 2026. “
